Q: What is the routine for dropping off or picking up my child at dismissal time?

A:

Morning Drop-off: Cars will be directed to the Stroudsburg High School entrance facing Morey. The parent access road will be open between 8:35 and 8:45 and will reopen at 8:55 or when buses have unloaded and departed. Please note only buses will have access to the Morey Main Street Entrance between 8:15 - 9:10 and 3:00 - 4:00.

You will drive around the building. Vehicles must be in park (emergency brake engaged if your vehicle is a standard). Please wait for a staff member to open the car door for your child to exit. Students will be admitted at the entrance on the east side of the building beginning at 8:35. After 9:10 students are late. If there is an excessive car line students will not be considered late. When students arrive after 9:10 you must sign them in at the office.

Since you will be in a line to drop off your child, it will not be feasible to walk your child into the building each morning.

Afternoon Pick-up: Children who will be picked up by car/truck at the end of the day must have a note informing the teacher and office regarding who will pick up your child. Cars should use the access road from Stroudsburg High School facing Morey. The gate will open from 3:35 until approximately 3:45 or until the buses start to load. Cars will be directed to the east side of the building for parent pick up (side facing Pocono Creek). The gate will reopen when the buses depart. Vehicle must be in park (emergency brake engaged if your vehicle is a standard). A staff member will open your car door, place child in seat, and secure safety belt. Please be sure to follow the State Law for child safety seats and restraints.

Walkers - AM: Students will cross at Main Street light with the assistance of school security. Students should walk up and down the stairs on the west side of the building and enter near the multipurpose room. Doors for students coming for breakfast will open at 8:35 and non-breakfast students at 9:00. Front doors will be secured and no students are to enter through the front doors unless they are coming in late.

Walkers - PM: Students will exit at doors on the west side of the building. A staff member will release students to you beginning at 3:43. Please follow the directions of school security regarding pick-up (stay inside the railing, walk across Main Street for your student (please do not wave students across the street), no bicycles, skateboards, etc. in pick up area).

We ask parents to be patient and considerate as you wait in line to drop-off or pick-up your child.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. The safety of the children is the primary consideration at all times.

***PLEASE  - NO CELL PHONE USE ONCE YOU ARE

PAST THE ACCESS ROAD GATE!***
